Abstract
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of a transactional analysis (TA) redecision program on reducing social anxiety and enhancing life-goal setting among out of school youth. The experiment and control groups were comprised of 26 participants from two centers in Ulsan City. Measurement tools included the social avoidance and distress scale, social anxiety scale for adolescents, and the life-goal scale for adolescents. The final program was constructed based on the stages of the procedural model (planning, construction, implementation, and evaluation); the final phase utilized TA re-decision therapy. The study revealed that the program reduced both social anxiety and fear of evaluation. No significant difference was identified between the reduction of outer goals and the enhancement of inner goals. Based on these results, implications and limitations are discussed.
